What is Ideal States?

Ideal States is a year-long research project, and brings together the fields of design and healthcare, both principally associated with people-centred practices and with improving quality of life.

Its aim is to understand and question the fundamental assumptions and philosophies of each, and to find a way of working together that will allow improved collaboration between the two fields at a point in history where the demographic profile of the population is ageing and posing particular challenges for the future.

This research is funded by the EPSRC and AHRB through the Designing for the 21st Century initiative.
